雖然陷入了大法官提名風暴，總統府上午仍推出正副總統祝賀小朋友的電子賀卡，祝福全國小朋友兒童節快樂，今年的兒童節恢復放假，馬英九與蕭萬長都以「童趣活潑、幸福100」為設計主軸，營造民國100年歡欣雀躍的兒童節。
馬英九總統的賀卡，以「種子」為故事的開端，搭配輕快活潑的背景音樂，訴說種子備受父母呵護、照顧、關懷的溫馨過程。在充滿愛的成長環境裡，父母用心耕耘、細心灌溉，種子開心長大，成為果實纍纍的茁壯大樹，總統期許所有未來主人翁「懷抱希望，奔向未來」。

馬英九：大法官提名作業要改

對於提名邵燕玲擔任大法官引發的爭議，馬英九總統中午被媒體問到否沒有做好上網搜尋的功課，他表示，非常正確，我們就是這一塊沒有做好，如果先做好有關社會觀感的調查，這些資訊都可以搜查得到，可遺憾沒有做好。
他表示，因為過程有疏失，已經要求將來依憲法提名作業時，要整個納入這部分，建立新的標準作業程序，這部分確實是最大的盲點。儘管補救措施，使得更大傷害沒發生，但出現應該注意而沒有注意的事情，這就是我們的責任，他應該負擔主要的責任。
